CSI(R) starter heat shields helps eliminate starter problems caused by the close proximity of the exhaust to the starter. The radiant heat of the exhaust easily produces enough heat to destroy the windings of the starter and solenoid. To cure this problem use a heat barrier to deflect the radiant heat produced by an exhaust system. The unique construction of the aluminized material provides protection by deflecting up to 90 percent of the radiant heat.
