The SPAN PressureGuard Protocol Mattress with Raised Perimeter provides a customized air delivery cover design that gently removes excess moisture vapor from vulnerable skin. Its control unit is designed to be efficient, generating minimal heat and noise while using less power.
With the option of alternating pressure or flotation treatment modes, caregivers can choose the best option for their patient. In addition, the auto firm mode increases surface stability during activities of daily living, and the mattress can maintain inflation during power outages or transport.
The system includes the mattress, control unit, and a machine-washable coverlet. The Raised Perimeter models also offer added safety by guiding the user away from the edge of the bed.
Patient Indications:
- Excessive skin moisture due to sweating, decreased mobility, inability or refusal to be repositioned
- Macerated skin due to any of the above
- Increased skin or body temperature due to infection, sepsis, or other conditions
- A combined score ≤ 9 on Braden Moisture, activity and Mobility scales
- Treatment of Stage 1-4 Pressure Injuries
- Prevention of Pressure Injuries for high-risk patients
